Send money in the Western Union Shop

Sending money with Western Union is a quick, easy process. All you need to do is go to a Western Union store near you and follow these instructions.

1. Write down the address of the Western Union Shop where the recipient will pick up the money.
2. When you arrive at the shop, enter the name of the recipient and the address.
3. Here you can pay by credit card or cash the amount you want to send by Western Union, as well as a service fee. This depends on the destination and country of origin, the payment method and the total.
4. You will now receive a ten-digit control number, the so-called Money Transfer Control Number, or MTCN.
5. You must convey this to the recipient, who must show it together with his ID at the pickup.

Send money over the Internet

If you do not have access to a Western Union shop, you can also transfer money online.

1. To do this, visit the Western Union website.
2. Under the "Send money" section, enter the total, the recipient and the pick-up location.
3. Payment is made by credit card, PayPal or direct debit.
4. Here, too, you will receive an MTCN number, which you must give to the recipient so that the money can be handed over to him.
5. You can also track your money transfer through the Western Union website.
6. Attention! If the sum is too large, only a check can be issued to the recipient. This is often the case in smaller places.
