Ubuntu: Set up Kodi - Here's how
Before you can install Kodi, you need to add the appropriate repository first.
- To do this, enter the following commands in the console: "sudo apt-get install software-properties-common", "sudo add-apt-repository ppa: team-xbmc / ppa", "sudo apt-get update".
- After the update, install Kodi using the "sudo apt-get install kodi" command.
Kodi basic configuration
- If you start Kodi for the first time via the Ubuntu menu, Kodi will appear in English. Via "System -> Settings -> Appearance -> International" you can change the language to "German" and also specify the region and keyboard layout.
- On a desktop PC you can choose between full screen and window mode under "System -> Video hardware" in "Display mode".
- Fill your libraries with "Videos -> Files -> Add Videos -> Search" and "Music -> Files -> Add Source -> Search".
