iPhone / iPad: Activation failed - you can do that

Activation failed on iPhone / iPad - what to do?
- A SIM card may be required to activate the iPhone. Therefore, use them correctly.
- You can also connect to a WiFi network if you don't have a SIM card.
- Activation may not be available at the moment. Try it later if "iOS device activation" is not currently available.
- Maybe your device has been locked. To check this, go to icloud.com and log in with your data. If your iPhone or iPad is not listed there, continue with the next steps.
- You can also try activating the iPhone or iPad through iTunes. Make sure that you are using the latest version of iTunes and connect the device to the PC via USB.
- Start iTunes and click on the device name in the top right corner. The activation screen should now appear.
- In many cases it may be sufficient to restart the device briefly.
