Android smartphone as a growth camera - how it works
We'll show you how to turn your Android smartphone into a surveillance camera. It can be set up quickly with an app and is no longer noticeable as a cell phone lying around.
Android: Use smartphone as a surveillance camera
If you want to permanently monitor a room, the free video surveillance app IP camera is of great service. The applications transmit the live image from a cell phone camera to another cell phone. Installation via a Google account is very easy, the app also offers numerous useful functions.
- A USB power supply is recommended as the device consumes a lot of power when constantly transferring an image.
- The screen of the app is switched off while the transmission is in progress - this way, the monitoring is not noticeable. You also have the option of switching on the camera's LED lamp in the dark via the transmission device - very practical.
- With an integrated motion detector, you get a mobile phone notification when something moves in the surveillance camera. You can then immediately switch to live view.
- You can find a complete test report of the app and the download in our app area.
Android: surveillance with motion trigger
The free Android app Motion Detector Pro works differently: If the picture in the camera changes, it triggers and sends you the pictures taken by email or a notification by SMS. You can determine the sensitivity of the trigger yourself.
- You do not always have to keep an eye on the monitoring by recording with a motion detector. You will be automatically informed of an event.
- A constant power supply is also recommended for this type of monitoring to ensure continuous monitoring.
- You can download the free Android app from the Google Play Store.
