Other "on iTunes - that's the reason
Connect your iPhone or iPad to the computer and start iTunes, there you will find the category "Other" in the memory. We'll tell you what all the space is used for.
iTunes: What is "Other"?
- There are several types of files in iTunes behind the "Other" category. These usually occupy one to two gigabytes of storage space.
- Above all, temporary files are saved here. These are used both by the system and by applications such as the mail app. Safari also stores its data here.
- It gets annoying when updates fail and several gigabytes are suddenly assigned to the category "Other". Unfortunately, the files cannot be deleted really easily.
- In many cases, a software update cleans up the memory. If no update is available, you can back up your iOS device in iTunes and then restore it from the backup.
- If that doesn't work either, you have to reset your iPad / iPhone.
In the next practical tip, we will show you how to download your music to iPhone without iTunes.
